Meet the animals of RDC
Chimpanzees
Our recently remodeled Chimp Outpost hosts a troop of five chimpanzees: one male and four females.
Bison
Our Bison is currently empty, as we are planning to remodel and update this enclosure for our next herd! Stay tuned – Something exciting is coming!
Grizzly Bear
Smokey came to us in the fall of 2017 after the loss of his mother to poaching. RDC opened his new habitat, located in the heart of the zoo, in the fall of 2020!
Primates
RDC is home to several primates, including red-ruffed lemurs, spider monkeys, and squirrel monkeys!
Carnivores
We are proud to house two Spotted Hyena, named Charlie and Baby, a tiger named Rajah, who is quite the character, and two mountain lions, Jasper and Jade.
Hoofstock
Check out our zebras, highland cattle, and miniature donkeys!
Macaws
In warm weather, our blue and gold macaws, Otis and Cruz, can be found in our Garden Walk. Look for them in the Discovery Building when the weather is cooler!
Birds of Prey
All birds of prey that reside at RDC were unable to be released back to the wild after suffering injuries. This includes Turkey Vulture, Swainson Hawk, Bald Eagle and red-Tailed Hawk.
Reptiles
RDC is home to numerous fun reptiles, including various snake species, Tortoises and Turtles!
